In 1976, history was made when Kao Chiem Chao and his family became the first Iu Mien family to arrive in America, opening the path for thousands more. Their journey marked the beginning of a new chapter for our people one of resilience, rebuilding, and hope.

Today, nearly 50 years later, we honor their courage and celebrate the countless families who followed, building a strong and thriving Mien community across the nation.
